What we are looking for

Pitch articles that give readers a specific way to understand a film, setting, screen tradition or aspect of northern life on screen. Strong proposals have a clear question, explain why the subject suits Northern Cinema Guide and offer a distinct point of view without relying on sweeping claims about a whole region.

Make the pitch useful

Include a working title, a short outline, the films or material you would discuss and the main point a reader should take away. Say what sources or viewing experience the piece would draw on, and flag any limits or uncertainties. Avoid sending a finished article when a concise proposal will do.
